The Primary forcus of my research has been on the Online Program Management (OPM) industry.  My dissertation is some of the first work studying this particular phenomenon.

OPMs are a multi-billion dollar part of the higher education landscape.  There are two primary models for OPMs, Revenue Shares and Fee-For-Service
